Our birth doula services are intended to help support birthing women & families
do all they can to achieve the birth experience they are
wanting.
There are many tools we use to provide comfort and reassurance to the labouring family. But the most commonly used tools are ones that cannot be put into our birth bags...
- our two hands (massage; gentle touch; an anchoring touch during rough times),
- an open heart (supporting your wishes; having no agenda of our own),
- and gentle eyes (to let you know you're not alone in your experience, and that what you're feeling is normal and safe).
Our doula services are specialized to clients
planning a homebirth, as well as to those clients
for whom homebirth isn't an option for, but are wishing
for
a home-like
birth
experience within the hospital. By offering specialized
services, we hope to better meet the needs of all our clients.

Included in the
birth doula package is:
- Two prenatal
visits to get familiar with what is important
to you;
- $50
discount for clients who take prenatal classes with us.
- Handouts to
help you understand topics we've discussed and clarify
your beliefs;
- On-call
support for questions or concerns;
- Assistance
with making a belly cast or preparing
a blessingway,
if desired;
- 24
hour availability for labour and birth support,
with back-up doula support for emergencies;
- Two
postnatal visits to help support
a good breastfeeding relationship, review
your birth experience, answer questions
you may have about the birth, etc;
- Extra
breastfeeding support and
information available for if breastfeeding
feels more challenging;
- A written
birth story from your doula's perspective for
your records.
Fee for this service
is $650.
